Reuse Recycle Decor - Saree Saga

So what do you do when you use and old saree for Curtains? You can use the blouse piece if you have to make a cushion cover or even a neat bolster cover. Ask your local furnishings tailor for a nominal fee, if you dont have or are not adept with the sewing machine(I am not)

I love Natural fabrics. I love home washable linen. Just had an idea and wanted to refurbish an old faded quilt. What better way than with a Cotton Sungadi Saree(its extremely soft) There are areas in the home where one doesn't really need to cover up with thick curtains, so sheer ones will do. One such area is the dining/living area in our home. One saree made for two door length curtains. Ask your local tailor to make a little stitch on the top and the bottom. Split the pallu into two, and voila two identical sized curtains ready!

Our double quilt needed two sarees, one for either side..I love the deep blue and red combination!
